No.1 Lounge refurbishment and extension completed at Gatwick North Terminal

Due to high demand for space in the No.1 Lounge at Gatwick North Terminal, we were once again appointed to refurbish and extend the space, which was originally completed in 2011. The bistro has been extended considerably and the bar re-imagined as the centrepiece for passengers entering the lounge. No.1 Lounge refurbishment and extension completed at Gatwick North Terminal

LGWN 1 Refurb Bar-1929

Due to high demand for space in the No.1 Lounge at Gatwick North Terminal, we were once again appointed to refurbish and extend the space, which was originally completed in 2011. The bistro has been extended considerably and the bar re-imagined as the centrepiece for passengers entering the lounge. The brief called for more lounge seating to meet capacity demands, at the same time it was important to maintain the brand’s ambition to create a variety of spaces for passengers to choose from depending on their mood. We created and defined the spaces such as the sports lounge, bar, library, bistro and window lounge with the use of bespoke joinery, changing levels, fabric tones and furniture styles.

The works were carried out in multiple phases to allow the lounge to remain open to passengers, which created a challenging sequence of works for the contractor and project team. It was also important that passengers did not feel disrupted by the works, and so careful consideration was given to the appearance of any areas being worked on.

New No.1 Lounge Opens at Gatwick South Terminal

Inside Out Architecture have recently completed No.1 Lounge's exciting new space at the Gatwick South Terminal. The previous lounge was closed to make way for a much larger space with incredible views. The size and nature of the space allowed for a series of levels to be created to define the bar, bistro, library and sports lounge. The plan is further broken up by angular slices through joinery and levels. The branded interiors, recently developed with No.1 and IOA, have… Read More

New No.1 Lounge Opens at Gatwick South Terminal

LGWS Day Lounge-2612 LR-Reduced

Inside Out Architecture have recently completed No.1 Lounge’s exciting new space at the Gatwick South Terminal. The previous lounge was closed to make way for a much larger space with incredible views. The size and nature of the space allowed for a series of levels to be created to define the bar, bistro, library and sports lounge. The plan is further broken up by angular slices through joinery and levels. The branded interiors, recently developed with No.1 and IOA, have been applied to this lounge which further identifies the different moods of the spaces. Lush planting within joinery is the only feature breaking the view.

Silver Sands receives planning permission

In conjunction with Landscape Perspective, Inside Out Architecture have succeeded in gaining planning permission for 14 Passivhaus houses on a rural Kent brownfield site. Conceived as a woodland escape, the Councillors expressed their approval of the quality of design, voting overwhelmingly in favour. This project is unique in the practise in that all members of the residential design team have contributed to it, so this success is very exciting and fulfilling. This project is unique in the practise in that all members of the residential design team have contributed to it, so this success is very exciting and fulfilling. It is our hope that the project now moves forward to create a welcoming, sustainable community on the outskirts of Faversham.
