Having recently returned to the studio, InsideOut are pleased to announce that we are picking up right where we left off, on one of UK’s leading sandwich shops at Heathrow Terminal 2. Whilst extra time and diligence has been taken by the Client, Contractor and Consultants to get the gears safely in motion on-site, off-site construction has been making steady progress.
A significant portion of this project is comprised of bespoke joinery. Booth seating finished in oak and stained ply bring a fresh tone to this recognisable brands image. A simple veil will have strong presence both in-store and from the concourse, and we look forward to these elements being installed in the coming weeks. The off-site steelwork for the wall cladding is also nearing completion, ready to provide that industrial backdrop for the joinery to sit within. A lot of virtual collaboration has been running in the background so it will be rewarding to see our team’s detailing brought to life.
Site work is observing stringent safety guidelines from transportation to site, of staff and material, through to close-quarter works. All risk assessment method statements from main and subcontractors are updated to mitigate coronavirus transmission. Although work will be affected by these additional safety measures, a methodical approach to the programme will ensure key milestones are met through to completion. The overall programme duration has not significantly changed since the pause, so we are anticipating the build momentum to pick up quickly. Keep tuned in towards the summer’s end as the project unveils.
