We are happy to announce work for Knollys Road has commenced on site. The project looks to install two new blocks of residential accommodation on the 1633m2 site.
Given the varied context of the street, the project proposes a composition of high-quality contemporary architecture, rather than creating a pastiche of its Inter-war and mid-century neighbours. Using the topography of the site, the mews houses are set into the landscape, concealing them from the street view; allowing the apartment block to rest, as a sculptural cube, on a landscaped plinth.
The scheme will introduce 22 units of lifetime homes accommodation to the West Norwood area. The positioning of the buildings creates a central landscaped deck for overlooked play and social gathering. Green roofs and walls provide greater biodiversity and air quality for all residents.
