The brief was to convert a once derelict shop on Clapham’s High Street into a desirable Patisserie and Café. The renovation combines modern design with traditional materials. Use of light and space was crucial in drawing customers into the shop and Café.
The use of simple waxed plaster and French oak finishes was applied throughout offering a light and modern finish. A solid elm floor was laid to exaggerate the proportions of the space and create a conventional, warm feel. Also in keeping with the traditional feel of the Patisserie is the floor to ceiling bespoke shelving which runs the breadth of one wall, accessed by a sliding steel ladder.
