In this loft, the clients were a young family looking to transform the flat into a welcoming family home. Our choice of materials aimed to create a light and playful atmosphere, incorporating the clients’ love of design classics. With space being tight, most partitions were transformed into useful pieces of joinery. A bespoke kitchen was designed with a stepping concrete countertop that felt right at home in the raw concrete building. Birch plywood was used to create a warmer materiality to offset the raw concrete, combined with modern pastels to complete the relaxed and fun setting.

It was really enjoyable to work on two residential projects side-by-side, but with very different briefs. The challenge with this project was to create a fun and welcoming family home in a former-industrial concrete building. The heart of the project is the kitchen island/breakfast bar and the full-length bookcase along the living room, which allows family interaction and continuous personalisation of the space. Plenty of built in storage and a utility room allows the general clutter of family life to be confined when required!

An all round positive experience working with InsideOut. They quickly understood the vision for our family home and took us through each phase of the project from design to completion. They delivered on time, on budget and exactly what we wanted. We thoroughly enjoyed the project and are extremely pleased with result.
