Informal break-out workspaces and individual work stations were designed as part of No1 Traveller’s exciting new space at the London Gatwick South Terminal. The previous lounge was closed to make way for a much larger space with incredible views.
The size and nature of the space allowed for a series of levels to be created to define the different areas of the lounge. The plan is further broken up by angular slices through joinery and levels. The new brand interiors, recently developed by No1 and InsideOut, have been applied to this lounge throughout which further identifies the different moods of the spaces.
We worked closely alongside the Gatwick capital projects team and No1 Lounges to determine the specification for the new CIP space that was being created as part of Gatwick’s £186m Pier 1 project. This involved structural analysis for integrating a new lift, revised services arrangements and a revised fire strategy. The constraints of the space were exploited to create a more open lounge with soft divisions rather than walls, enabling the panoramic view along the runway to take centre stage.
“A creative and professional team always willing to go the extra mile to get things done.”
