Casual, playful and accessible travel workspace has been created within this airport lounge; resulting in a more tactile, and perhaps, urban experience.
Offering an informal feel that is embodied in its materials, colours and even its functioning, the overriding aim was to create a sense of place within the generic airport environs.
Unfinished wood, metal and concrete were utilised to create a stripped-back appearance that also feels curated. Elements of bold colour play off against this natural palette to create features that draw the eye. The expressed grid of concrete columns and bulkheads, along with the Crittall-style glazed screens and timber ceilings, defines spaces such as the ‘living room’, ‘kitchen’ and ‘study’ whilst allowing a sense of connection throughout.
