Founder and Director
Following his architectural studies at University of Westminster and experience working on a broad range of schemes encompassing residential developments, schools, hotels, retail projects and commercial fit-outs, Chris co-founded InsideOut in 2001. InsideOut is a small client-oriented practice and was initially primarily focused on residential schemes. Some 300 projects later, InsideOut now undertake projects across a variety of sectors that draw on Chris’s 25 years of experience within the construction industry. Chris currently heads up the commercial team, in parallel to his role as Managing Director of the practice. His personable manner, professionalism and strategic vision make Chris an invaluable asset to any of our clients and an exemplary team principal within our office.
Bianca Valido Leach
A native of Gran Canaria, Bianca trained in London, has been ARB accredited for over 10 years and is also a RIBA Chartered Architect. Her past experience includes a wide range of project types and scales, having been involved in a number of urban design projects while working at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in New York as well as working for 6 years as an Associate in Mador & Partners on projects ranging from residential refurbishments to sport and leisure complexes. Bianca joined the InsideOut team in 2009 and became a company director in 2013, currently overseeing the residential projects in the practice, ranging from developer-led new housing developments to smaller and more personalised domestic schemes. Her architectural interests are focused on creating places that are appropriate, contextual and deliver meaningful value to our clients.
Graham joined InsideOut in July 2017 to help Chris manage, and advance the design quality of, our commercial projects. With over 20 years of cross sector experience, Graham has worked across a diverse range of projects including a presidential centre, art gallery, and theatre as well as commercial offices, retail and residential schemes. Graham values working closely with clients, the design team and the contractor to create amazing well thought through designs, and especially enjoys uncovering the possibilities presented by adapting existing spaces.
Anthony has been working at InsideOut since 2014. Anthony completed his diploma at Kingston University in London and obtained his RIBA Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture (Part III) in September 2005. He has twenty years of professional practice over which time he has gained valuable experience at a number of award-winning London based design-led practices, as well as at practices in Rome and Kula Lumpur in Malaysia. Anthony’s particular architectural interests are focused on creating work that is routed in its specific context and culture, with an interest in the application of climatically responsive design solutions.
James studied and trained in London, gaining his ARB accreditation in 2014. He is also a RIBA Chartered Architect. He has been with InsideOut since 2012 and during this time has worked as a Designer and then Project Architect on a wide range of commercial and residential projects. His current projects include the refurbishment and extensions of a Grade II listed townhouse in Camden and a 5-bedroom farmhouse in West Sussex. His architectural interests lie in refined and well-detailed buildings that carefully consider the human experience.
Andrea was born and raised in the United States and completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Architecture as well as a Master’s Degree in Planning at the University of Nebraska. An exchange at Dublin Institute of Technology in 2007 enticed Andrea to make the leap and eventually immigrate to London at the beginning of 2013. Since this time Andrea has been a part of the InsideOut team, working closely with clients to deliver projects that enhance family life and and the customer experience. She completed her qualifications at Oxford Brookes University in 2016 and is currently managing a number of residential and commercial projects.
Philip is a RIBA Chartered Architect who gained his qualifications through the RIBA North West following a period of study at the Manchester School of Architecture. Philip has experience in a variety of sectors and scales, working in award winning London and Manchester based design-led practices as well as working in residential and commercial projects throughout Asia. Philip’s architectural interests lie in the refining details and interpreting and crafting space to enhance the well-being of the end user.
Kamila studied architecture at the Universita degli Studi di Ferrara in Italy and completed her master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Planning at the Technical University of Bialystok in Poland. After becoming a fully qualified architect in June 2017 Kamila joined the InsideOut team. Kamila is interested in sustainable living and design and is part of the No1 team working on airport schemes. Outside of work Kamila enjoys travelling and is an explorer of Italian culture and cuisine.
Daniel has recently joined the team at InsideOut having just finished a Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Sheffield. At university he worked with a local children’s charity to develop, design and build a community adventure playground. Working on both commercial & residential projects here at InsideOut, Daniel is interested in connecting with clients to make sure we can deliver the best design for their needs.
After graduating from the Royal College of Art with a Masters degree in Architecture, Hema joined the team at InsideOut in 2017 to continue on the path to professional accreditation. Hema’s interest in architecture stems from her talent in balancing creativity with pragmatism. Hema used her thesis to explore how state and market-led production of space in the residential sector could coexist materially, economically and spatially.
Marianna completed her bachelor’s degree in interior architecture and design in Greece and spent a semester in Italy before moving to London to complete her master’s Degree in interior design at the University of Westminster. After graduating Marianna gained experience on a variety of residential and commercial projects at Nelson Design. Marianna is invested in finding creative solutions to optimise the built environment, improving functionality and user experience with detailing and experimentation with materials.
María was born in Spain where she attended Canterbury School, which prepared her to travel to London in 2012. Maria joined InsideOut in 2017 after completing a foundation course in Central Saint Martins and graduating from Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design at London Metropolitan University. María is currently at her Part 1 stage of RIBA certification and will soon continue with her Diploma. Interested in both residential and commercial projects, María aspires to travel around the world to learn from other cultures and their architecture.
Shayema joined the team in 2012 through her Business Administration apprenticeship scheme. Shayema studied whilst working her way up at InsideOut as an advanced apprentice. Shayema works alongside the Practice Manager while also supporting Architects and Designers in the office.
Cathy has been with InsideOut since 2006, having previously worked in several London law firms. She studied Business at Westminster University and is a Chartered MCIPD. Her role is ensuring the office runs smoothly and that the practice is a great place to work. Additionally, Cathy looks after the financial side of the business.
